Soldier of Possibility

Soldier of Possibility

A Poem by Reflexion

The man I used to be

Lurks in the shadows

You see

While the man I want to be

Walks too far in front

Of me

So presently

A battle continues

Metaphysically

Battling the demon

Of

Entropy

A battle of wills you see

Takes place

Inside of me

My weapon:

Philosophy

Used strategically

To prevent atrocity

To keep myself from me

To separate the hero from the casualty

My soldiers:

Words and reverie

Pressing forward passionately

Pieced together with integrity

Strengthened

By faith and divinity

Hope is not a luxury

Its presence

Necessity

Its absence denies

The strength of

Possibility

So my realization, you see,

Is to confront

Latency,

Passivity,

Ambiguity,

Invisibility,

And

Mystery

Become a Soldier of Possibility

Allow the belief inside of me

To pass through transcendentally

And find its way to reality

Adjust the soul of immaturity

Shape it patiently

Keep it open to possibility

Create future soldiers methodically

Who no longer champion mediocrity

But

Stare back at adversity

And

Welcome its challenge openly

Only by leading selflessly

Can I answer my inquiry

Strip away my vanity

Tear apart hypocrisy

Forcing this battle of wills, you see,

To guide me toward my destiny

Catch the man in front of me

Escape this sense of uncertainty

And adopt a philosophy

Of growth

And not the rest provided

By security

If I have learned anything, you see,

It’s that rest lasts temporarily

Acceptance leads to apathy

Sewing future seeds of stupidity,

Inconsistency,

And eventually,

Leading to disloyalty

Not to any outside entity

But disloyalty

To my quest for tranquility

As

I search for the man I think I should be

in a quest to figure out who we could be, and then to embark on that journey we must soldier forward...poets use words to win that battle for tranquility....nicely expressed here...
sometimes we overuse philosophy...we look at every angle, for too long, and the hesitation often costs us that chance to win the war of self-achievement.

One word : Wow. Another : Amazingyly-awesome-omg-I'm-gonna-cry-from-happiness-of-this-amaziness-of-amazingness. Okay little over-exaggerated but it is a wonderful painting of a passionate past, and an indecisive mind narrating it the whole way! I have many family friends that have served in the military, (closest one is in air force by the way), and my grandfather served, as well as my dad's late father. I'm done only speaking of myself, I want to know where you got this idea from, because it is golden and its just amazing. Thank you so much!
