BODHISATVA

A Poem by brightcloud
"

I heard the story of the sage who had achieved 'Freedom' yet chose to stay behind until all others had passed through the gates of enlightenment. I was thinking of personal experiences as well ...

"

BODHISATVA

You will reach home before me.

And for this I am grateful.

I will close the gate behind me.

And in the sunset of our completion

a gentle breeze will sweep

the sacred steps of our lost loves.

This is the story of the noble monk whose compassion was so far beyond his sense of self that he vowed to be the last to cross through the gates of enlightenment. The nobility and genuine love of this legend inspired me. At the time I was in a maze of struggle -- similar questions, trying to tame the beast. Thanks for reading.
