A lover's tasteless temptationA Poem by kevincarib3Set off by grief Begins and eerie chapter Written in tainted blood Reveals a tale of fraudulent love And hidden secrets of a murderous plot I tramp my feet on all their souls They all belong to my ring I am hunted by a muster of thoughts They quickened my steps to write this secret My life is a mixture of blood and wine Tasty to insanity's lips Tasteless to reason And the laws and morals of society I am wrapped in silence But my deeds leave a careless blood trail Haste does not indulge me To be clothed with a convicts curse My love for them were tasteless As tasteless as temptation with no sweetness Their wine was as sweet to me Blood and wine are both red Can an insane man tell the difference? They dined with me And drank my love Their love were tasteless to me Only their blood tempted me Hence dawn the eve of a lover's tasteless temptation Gradually tears of reason fell And flooded their hearts Before they saw death As he swam in the moonlight They were all sustained And soothed By an unfaltering trust That death would rescue them From a lover changed like the weather How he cast the reflection of a monster Which one of you haunts me? Which one gazes at me with a spectral glare? An insane man never stands aghast Because reality's margin fades away Is it you Salena? Is it you Malaya? Is it you Patricia? Has your sickening thirst returned? Well drink with me Like I drank with you Before obituaries rode away with you all They all scourged with pain In their rooms When my unfurled rage misted my eyes And crept like a plague to their doors I will never walk Among trials of doctors Who try to make me see Blood and wine are not red As they gloat and take their notes Trying to understand an alcoholic I have wrestled with alcoholism for years like I have wrestled with gristly fear That one of my wine bottles would break before I drank But yes I must drink soon I am no murderer But a simple alcoholic I slit their necks Under the veil of the night And drank their blood till their bodies tightened Like that of a saddles girth
