Innocent

Innocent

A Poem by kevincarib3

He tasted the acridness
Of the lurking tomorrows
A crooked system
Sealed his fate
His mind was at a prolonged scuffle
As the cold tears trickled
down his tired face
His hurt was drenched
In superficial rough waters
Echoes of innocence
Taunted him at night
Confined to mirror walls
Which cast another mans reflection
He spat out faith
like unwanted phlegm
And veered into distant memories
of a once owned cassimere sweater
As the cold thoughts slowly came
A man so innocent
Yet proven guilty
Deserves a second chance
But left to die
by the raft of times hand
His innocent plea
Is never heard
