The Place where I stand Alone

The Place where I stand Alone

A Poem by Kevin Andros
"

Relocated, separated from my loved ones. I don't know where I will go, or where I come from. This is the place where I stand alone

"

This time there is no fallback,

This time there is no Backup,

This time everything is final,

One slip and it's the end.

The end of my life,

Makes me wonder how I survived,

Survived for so long,

and never went down.

But now I walk on this harsh road,

Vulnerable, weak, and alone,

The one blow on the outside,

damages my insides,

Tears me apart from within,

and laughs at me as I cry.

I look around with tearful eyes,

finding no one who stands by my side,

I walk as I cry,

Carrying a dead heart inside.

I walk as I cry,

I cry as I pray,

Pray to survive,

or end this one hell of a Life!

Author's Note

Kevin Andros
Written after I was relocated by my company with zero warnings. Getting no time to write. Still, Give it a read. I am afraid that if I don't get time, the writer inside will die.

I don't think the writer inside ever dies, he just gets really really angry. I loved the rhythm in this piece. The internal rhyme begs it to be read aloud. "I walk as I cry,/I cry as I pray," were probably my favorite lines.
