The Border Wall

The Border Wall

A Poem by Kevin Andros
"

Talking about the metaphorical borders within ourselves. Non Political.

"
I'm building a wall
locking myself out,
No more hurting you,
It's better if I'm not.

Putting it up one by one,
each hurts more than the other,
it's better when I'm not there,
and you'll be paying for it.

It will be easier,
With each passing day,
Cutting off all the ties,
And you will pay for that.

Building the border wall,
and you'll pay for it,
but it'll keep me out,
you just don't realise it.

Hurting you every day,
each day I'm around,
It's becoming unbearable,
for me to be around,

The wall will be big,
and strong,
and black,
and hot,

Just to keep in the hurt,
the pain,
the cold,
and the heartbreak.
