A Man After God's Own Heart (So Honored)

A Man After God's Own Heart (So Honored)

A Poem by Tabitha Dings
"

To my father, a fellow poet. He is famous in my family for writing poems on birthdays and Christmas. So Dad, here's one for you from me. Love you!

"

You’ve shown me so much

You’ve demonstrated

God’s merciful love

Even when you’re frustrated

You’ve opened your home

You helped in dark times

You sacrificed much

(I’m so very glad this rhymes!)

What is binding us?

It’s blood not water

I am so honored

To call myself your daughter

From the bottom of my heart, it fills me with love to be so honored. Its only a heritage when you have left something of value behind, when you're gone from this world. But, it is not what I have written that's of any value, it is who I am and who I have influenced that matters. It was in the same vein that Jesus spoke of His disciples, "I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. And I will do whatever you ask in My name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father." (St. John 14;12,13). Though my children each grow in their own ways and according to their own plans, I pray I have contributed some small part in their development; that they too may do greater things.

About
I'm normally a rather depressed creature, but I find solace in my son and my writing. Though God has been there through much of my pain, I feel that he gave me my writing for further comfort. I do hop.. more..
