The Awakening

The Awakening

A Poem by -Keshii-

The darkness is closing
and I can’t turn away
she stood in front of me opposing
while the moon sucked the light of the day

What are you? What are you doing here?
I asked aloud in fear
her ever lucid eyes stare
and she stood and looked and did not hear

The moonlight shimmered above
a cat ran past in the dark, a howl
and she stood there, the one I love
a chill ensured, followed the cry of an owl

She drew closer, her hair flying behind
bringing forth memories of before
her uncanny beauty did none but remind
of the days of aforetime that I fought to ignore

Light streamed through the leaves
and I held her hand looking at the sea
the warmth of her comforted my heart grieves
and I begged for more time, oh how I plead

by and by the days weakened away
time and time I asked how long she had to stay
on and on they said the same each day
and then came the hour when He had his way

But how, that now, she stood in this place
where everything was not as it is
she smiled and walked to me with splendid grace
I have been waiting for you, she says

I missed you so, but now we can be as we were
confused as I was, the warmth spread once more
I looked around and noticed others too, standing against the blur
and I accept where I have arrived, for true was the lore
