Freefall

Freefall

A Poem by Kerry B
"

This was just a free write, but I amazed myself with the metaphors and rhyme scheme. Enjoy!

"
Picture this
Writing as blood cries through my pen's tip
As the drops soak into a blank page's lips
Thirsting for more knowledge, my flow has no off switch
A steady diet of philosophies without the materialistic garbage
I spit until all is spent, call it a deposit
Trying to free my R. Kellys from being "trapped in the closet"
Drama, tragedy, and action, yet there's no cameras rolling
Scribbling my life's description until my palms become swollen
Trying to live golden like I got touched by Jill Scott
Rocking mics on the spot, eyes seeing flashes of ink blots
Polka dotted vision, sounds like a Dalmation description
Given a gift to spit memories into life with conviction
Poetry's ink flowing in my veins, poetic transfusion
Yet in the beginning was the word, so call it a divine reunion
Southern soul covered with red clay, painted with God's grace
Alabama bred, served on the dinner plate here in VA
Sailor of the seven seas as my pen writes with ocean sprays.
