yesterday...

yesterday...

A Poem by kerr

yesterday i was in the dark
with a sliver of light leading my way.

yesterday i was stubborn

not caring one bit.

still following the light

which i would be at the end of soon

finding the source.

today i found the source of light

it being those who care about me

especially god above.

the light ended with a fork in the road.

today i actually listened

and cared about what someone said

i considered a suggestion

i found out today

that being considerate is rewarding

but also hard at the same time.

tomorrow i will care about

what everyone has to say

i will do what people suggest

i will be reliable, responsible, honest

and always considerate.

tomorrow i will choose which road to take

the right road or the wrong road?

i know that the right road will be tough

but those are risks i am willing to take

tomorrow i will be everything

i can possibly be and more!

Thanks for the input, but I actually have all my writing using the little i. It's the style I prefer. As for the two roads I think that it could never be written about too much since we face two roads, two choices everyday. The journey is important but also the way you chose to get to your destination. And I will keep specifics in mind for next time.

Just so you know, e.e. cummings cornered the market on the little i, so unless you want your poem to become a comparison, capitalize. Two roads diverge in the woods, huh? That concept has also been done, I think by Robert Frost. I would like to see some specifics. How did this drastic change in perception occur? It really doesn't matter which path you choose, as the journey is what is truely important.
