Nature's wonder

Nature's wonder

A Poem by stacie

There I sat and played with overgrown grass.
Each slender blade I twirled in my grasp.
Intently i spied my two children play.
Happily, I could watch them all day.

The oldest used a ball to tease her brother.
She had been playfully taunting him forever
I look upon in amazement that they are mine.
It made my often unsettled soul shine.

The mystical wind made hair encase my face.
A breeze is invisible but proven to take place.
Then it tickled where the strands had traced.
Times like these made my faith not stray.

But it won't last forever I know....
So, for now, I will enjoy nature's show.

The sun peeked through holes in the clouds,
Warming my face, then fade into the shrouds.
In the distance, the sky cotton turned to grey.
And then, I knew it was about to rain.
Which, at least would hydrate the grass.
The conversion of color amazed me a last.

These feelings won't last forever I know.
So still, for now, I will enjoy nature's show.

Branches battled the wind, yowling it's call.
It tested the leaves transforming to fall.
Which tried to stay strong, giving their all.
Not even curling into...a pitiful ball.
Unlike me, who can be porcelain as a doll.

It made me think...
How my surroundings all fought the gusts.
And that my happiness, must be a must.

But still, my hair whipped harder and stronger.
The fading magic made me start to wonder...
Is there still more than this gale i can't see?
That exists so far higher than me?
It was exhausting trying so hard to believe...

So these feelings won't last forever I know,
Lastly, for now, I'll still just enjoy nature's show.

Then everything happened so fast..
I heard a cry then a clash.
The Frisbee struck,
Had his face been smashed?
Simutaneously, the gods roared
Releasing a crash.

I turned to see
a small head bounce off the ground...
And thunder echoed louder all around
My daughter yelled.
frightened by the sound.
So she looked to the clouds.
He saw his revenge and threw with a thrust.
She screamed again when it struck
Then she tackled him and he fussed.
It hurt my ears; their whiny voices,
Excelling along with the thundering forces.

The wind heightened...
The blanket of darkness suddenly lightened,
When Zigzags streaked, lighting the sky.
A piece of hair flew into my eye.
Stinging, tears flooded my cheeks.
I stood and ran to the scene.

My strong tree shed some orangish leaves,
Which the poor tree probably grieves.
This lawn will not be cut today,
But maybe it will still be okay...

The magical feeling is straining,
Nature's wonder is constantly waning.

At once the grey clouds were totally black.
Raindrops began to soak my slacks.
I dragged my children, rushing them in.
During the tussle, I got kicked in the shin.
"Get in the damn house!
Your getting soaked!
Now I must change your clothes!"
My anger had spiked
The previous peace was iced.

Nature's wonder has completely withdrawn...
Would happiness be back by dawn?

My tender eye's tears grew so strong.
From the fiercely lashing wind?
Or gloomy thoughts which were drawn in?

I peered out the window,
pressed up to the glass,
When wild naked children quickly zoom past.
Surprising myself, i abruptly laughed...
They paused to hear the rain loudly patter.
My boy stoppedd and pointing to the clatter.
He was so intrigued that he laughs with glee.
How silly I am...i could be as happy as he!

Nature's wonder hasn't gone astray.
It will just live in my children today
