Anise+Wormwood

Anise+Wormwood

A Poem by Keress Ambrose Frey Weidner

It took only a moment to benumb

As you blinked away with eyes, colored absinthe

A widened grin retrogressed to a line

Feeble. Thin.

The scraps scatter-- a river’s rubbish

The weaving of a blue jay’s nest.

An altered opportunity, just

Remnants left within.
