Country MusicA Poem by Joshua KepferI somewhat hate country music.JK Dear Country music, Why do you exist? How do you even exist? I know the guitar, and I know the drums but I have no idea why you were invented. All the poor pianos that you've whaled on All the microphones that have replicated your tones How can they stand it? Blues was here, Rock was there, Folk and Bluegrass, too but then you showed up and ruined Midwest's music. "I would like to play Bluegrass" say your dear children, "But it's too hard." They diligently complain. "I'll let you play Bluegrass" you tell the fools plainly, "And Rock and blues too." And you say as you smile, "You won't even need talent!" They smile right back as they Climb on the shoulders of the musicians before, Who knew not who you were. © 2016 Joshua KepferAuthor's Note
