The Dancing Flower

The Dancing Flower

"

A poem I wrote about a dream I had

"

In my dreams, day and night I have a vision. . .

I see a bright fire with wooden yule logs for the Christmas time that nest a delicately deadly red flower, with a base of raging white surrounding the dust and boulders, the ashes and coal that are it's only companions with the logs and air it's gaurdians, it's passion and reason for life! I sit here and curiously stare into the daisy's dancing petals as they flick up and down, around, side to side, under and over with everlasting energy, and I am in awe over it's mesmorizing beauty. Next to me, I see my best friends, Just their presence makes the room come alive with shadows from the flames and love from my heart. The darkness and light compare and contrast perfectly, and we are all at peace.

At the enter of anything wicked, like anger or sadness, or even loneliness, we all rise to protect what we have become and what we represent: Friends.

But we always return to the fire and, ignoring the red and white lily signing it's sweet vidual song to grasp our ever darting attention, we just laugh. Have fun. Enjoy each other's company. If I could, I would stay there, all night, all morning, and the same on forever, but alas the human nature beckons and craves so much more, despite the perfection of the scene. So we head back to our rooms in our houses, and allow ourselves to slip back into reality. Together. And in my vision I just step back and look at what we have made. An enviorment. A home. A FAMILY.

And we will sit by the dancing flower every night. Sit and be happy. Sit in serenity.

Mwah welcome!
This is a wonderfully descriptive and fantastically potent poem. I can feel every ounce of joy and happiness in this poem; and the sadness to leave your peaceful scene. The red and white lily, as you described it, sounds to me like a Peruvian lily; symbolic of friendship and devotion. Perhaps that has its own meaning? Excellent poem, I really enjoyed reading this.

This is amazing :) Absolutely beautiful! Great diction, and description. Beautiful imagery :) I find myself longing to join the scene. Yet at the same time, you give such an amazing description that I already feel I have :) It's beautiful :) I also loved how you started it with one line, then switched to a form with big pieces of body :) With a short piece in the middle, and it also ends with one line. This gives it sections, yet all the same it doesn't feel chunky. It flows gracefully. :D
