His Worst Mistake

His Worst Mistake

A Poem by K.M

It's currently 1:00 AM
And I cannot sleep
It was Thursday two hours ago
And five hours before that you broke my heart

You know it's crazy
How much 130.1 miles can change a person
I've been so worried about us lately
Since you left, life's hardly had any purpose

You were gone for four days
And in that time you managed to change three months
Turns out only true love stays
Maybe you just weren't the one

I must be losing control
Because I keep having those dreams
The dreams where I lose all of my teeth
And I realized that sometimes the words "I love you" are the best untold

It's hard for me to go anywhere
Since everything reminds me of you
The smell of Black cigars makes me teary eyed
I feel like I'm breathing heavy air

How can you be so unaware
I have no more tears, so all I can do is stare
