Now I Know Why

Now I Know Why

A Poem by K.M

Just look me in the eyes
Because now, I can see the shards protruding from your chest
You tell me it once was your heart
But now there is nothing left
You say it's getting better
But I know it's getting worse
You say you are fine
But you already rented a hearse
You are still listening to that song, hung up on one verse
But you still let your demons curse, let them fill you with lies
No matter how many times you ask for help, nobody hears your cries
On the inside you are begging pleading, feeling like you are going to die
But your father forbade you to cry....
That is why you can't look me in the eyes

Hard to learn when we are surrounded by lies. A strong ending to a excellent poem.

This comes a little to close for me as you can see by my icon, it was drawn by a friend who thinks me emotionless because, well the reasons don't matter :~) I like the premise and your storyline is memorable, it was a pleasure to read.

Thank you Bear, this really means a lot :)
Lots of pain and anger in this piece. Very personal. Love in all the wrong directions. Good luck on finding focus and the happiness you seek. Well done
