I hope it's you

I hope it's you

A Poem by mac

Try to cut you out
but you're still hanging by a thread
try to close my eyes and sleep
but all i can see is you dead
thought that i could learn to live without you
thought that i would find a way to breath
but now i know that i'm alone
trying, but can't seem to break free,
free of the life i used to have before you left that day,
free of the life i used to have before my hope went away...

always said you could protect me
guess the only one who needed saving was you
never thought i'd see your name labelin' a grave
but then again never thought i'd be without you

but now i know that i'm all alone
trying, but just can't seem to break free,
free of the life i used to have before you left that day
free of the life i used to have before my hope went away...

now i'm trying to go home
but i'm not sure where that is
just tired of fighting back the tears and fears
i don't want to be strong anymore

but now i know that i'm all alone
trying but just can't seem to break free
free of the life i used to have before you left that day
free of the life i used to have before my hope went away...

Next thing i know everything is broken
my heart, my hands, my legs, the glass
everything is shattered
the world starts to fade away
but suddenly i see a light
it shines down and illuminates the night
and i hope to god it's you
and i hope to god it's you

I love this! The emotion is stated so clearly through your blunt, but powerful lines throughout. I love how you repeat, "And I hope to god it's you", it really makes for an intense ending. Awesome piece. It's really, really fantastic.
