we esteemed Him not

we esteemed Him not

A Poem by kenwillp
"

unafflicted, mercy and grace, salvation

"

“we esteemed Him not”

A thousand miles

For my own honor,

Not one step for His

And we esteemed Him not

A thousand applause

For my own glory,

Not one gesture of reverence for His

We esteemed Him not

A thousand gifts

For my own birth,

Not one selfless act for His

We esteemed Him not

A thousand gold coins

For my own conventions,

Not one tithe for His

We esteemed Him not

A thousand tears

For my own pain,

Not one sigh for His

We esteemed Him not

A thousand fears

For my own death,

Not one belief in His

we esteemed Him not

A thousand pardons

For my own transgressions,

Not one affliction in His

And we esteemed Him not
