Song of Venus

Song of Venus

A Poem by Jonathan J Sharp

Song of Venus

The Planet Venus fingers itself
Backwards through space and time,
Spiraling strong like a pendant of remembrance
Through the infant black stratosphoria of
Realms seeping with stardust!
A bell winding jewel of
Remotest vibrancy, drawn
Through the cold length of infinity,
Ebbing at tides on the soft music that
Trickles furtively from your
Plentiful casket---
Indelibly borne through our vast galaxy,
You beam blissful beacons of serenity
Navigable only to those who encompass the spirit of love;
Mariners of this airless field, beware!
A readily meandering thought that would kiss the
Shorelines of her lips would henceforth betray you!
Venus travels on through
Orbital spheres of passing light,
Far above where human remains dare travel,
Yet solely watch how her radiant,
Heavenly body indolently ascends through
Milky clouds, like a great Goddess
Caresses at ease their solar curls,
Lays languished in a graze of light,
And suddenly we find a doorway to the
Illimitable universe thrown open wide
By her glaring countenance!
