The World beneath Us

The World beneath Us

A Poem by Kenneth Lopez
"

A mental or physical place you decide...

"

To see the forgotten, where history survives.
Breathless and frightened and swallowed alive.
Decisions misplaced and paths often lost.
No option of sinking, mind set cold as frost.
This is the place where light cannot follow.
A space in the rift of this world that’s all hollow.
No time to think no time to waste.
Limited options of movement and space.
Full of the lost and forgotten impressions,
of life of the past evolutions expression
Nothing can change or evolve to adapt.
For what brought forth pain to the light is inapt.
Silence is sound in this place we can’t reach.
Violence is bound and unseen when that deep.
This is the voice of "the ocean floor" that speaks
This is the voice of "emotions" on the mind of a freak
The darkest and calmest of this world in one piece
A world far from life of the lights war and peace
A world far from light with a minds path to cease

Though nothing is common in thought.
Expressing in writing has taught
That the earth has much meaning to mind
As mind has much meaning to find....not earth.

I like the thoughts you express you here a great deal, however the meter that you establish throughout you stop using towards the end and that felt a little off to me as far as structure is concerned. The thoughts you express are detailed exquisitely.
