Depression's Web

Depression's Web

A Poem by Kacie Delane Davis
"

a poem

"

I awake from a restless slumber

I step off my bed and tumble

I fall

I fall into the abyss

Into the seemingly nothing

I fall

My heart is racing in my chest

So empty and dark

I’m caught

I’m no longer falling

I can no longer move

I’m caught

I call out, to no avail

My echo is the only response

I’m trapped

With only my cries to keep me company

Despair spins her unbreakable web

Alone, I’m trapped

Bound to the solitude

Bound by emptiness

Ensnared

By this web of sorrows
