the difference between then & now.A Poem by Kelsie :]
When this began,
My heart was content.
"...we've had some times I wouldn't trade for the world."
The nights were always just right,
I remember the stars were always bright.
When this began,
My guard was down,
Then came the roaring fights,
...visions of our future flashed before my eyes.
But I always told myself,
"If love is a labor I'll slave 'til the end..."
I’m done standing in the lonely shadows with a halo over my head,
& never seeing a glimpse of light.
I’m done holding my breath;
I'll always end up turning blue in the face,
& laying their dead.
I'm done trying to make the gray disappear,
...a hurricane will form before that day appears.
When this began,
I was not expecting to be your rug.
Know I’m covered with your filthy lies,
…oh terrible deceitful lies.
"Are we getting closer, are we just getting more lost?"
When this began,
I wasn't expecting the pitch fork to rise above the ground,
Then strike me where it hurts.
...oh cruel love,
Look at this pain I now have to overcome.
"Let's compare scars I'll tell you whose is worse."
…my “labor” has finally reached the “end.”
