A Poem by Kelsey B.

My hand catches

At your coat

Rough grey felt

Slipping through my fingers

You leap away

Fox-like smile caught

Between your teeth

Eyes slanting sideways at me

My fingers curl

And fisted fall away

Face flushing red

With stinging unshed tears

“Oh no,” whispered

Green grass scent

Clinging to your skin

You press your cheek to mine

One touch barely felt

And you’re gone again

Faint tang of salt

Lingering on my lips

I like the Fox imagery in this which you use again in fang tang of salt at the end as well:

Fox-like smile caught
Between your teeth
Eyes slanting sideways at me

You paint a very vivid image within your concise words.
