A Chapter by Kelsey Desmond

"Megan, you've got to get off that couch!"
I took another long puff of my cigarette. "Hmm..." I said
"You've been sitting there for four weeks!"
"Well, what to you expect me to do, Hazel?" I breathed out the smoke. "Honey, that was my last job. Being fired eight times in three months isn't so good on a resume! No one will hire me. What's the point of getting up off this damn couch?"
"The point is," Hazel paused and rolled up a stray blanket on my floor. She sighed a little before continuing. "The point is that your broke! You've managed a scrappy apartment. You've survived off pizza and cigarettes." She showed a face off disgust as she shoved a half-empty pizza box to the floor.
"Hey! I was going to finish that!"
"When?" She sounded exhausted, but I could tell there was more frustration in her voice then anything. "The next Sunday after never? You're never going to finish that because even if you do you'll have food poisioning, and then you're fat, lazy a*s will be on that couch for another stupid seven-day week!" She threw the blanket up in the air out of rage. It landed on my head.
"Megan. You don't even have even money for rent. If you don't even try to get a job, I'm gonna stop paying it for you! And then I'm gonna stop buying your stupid cigarettes, and then I'm gonna leave your stupid a*s to die hear after you're stupid rotten pizza scraps run out! Agh!"
Hazel through her hands up in the air and stormed out my door.
I acted as if all she did had annoyed me, but I knew inside that she was right.
I looked out the window thinking about all she had just said. I took another puff from my cigarette and used to smoke to brush off a strand of stray hair.
"Ugh. What I am going to do?"

you used the word "through" twice, when it should've been "threw". The sentence, "No one will hire me?", I don't think there should be a question mark at the end. Otherwise, I like it a lot. Very, very good write, and I look forward to the next chapter.
