Chance

Chance

A Poem by Kelsey Desmond

I want you to understand that behind my mask,

My heart hurts more than the surface shows.

Each beat pulses more and more pain through my body.

Each second is longer than the outside world knows.

I want you to see that beside the truth.

Lies are the other thing that people talk about.

Rumors push me to the ground, hard and cold.

And the pain in my heart, stops the breaths from coming out.

And maybe you can help me,

But maybe you can't.

Either way you shoulnd't try.

Never give me a chance.
