My Pride's Denouement

My Pride's Denouement

A Poem by kelseyalexrose
"

Hm.

"

Eyes can never lie, but

Dye cast in their shadows

 -seeing red-

It deceives us.

My revelation

Bought and paid for

In sin and secret,

Only to reveal my own star-crossed whites.

Not a romantic

But lovelorn fate that awaits;

For those eyes that did not lie,

-as I know-

Are only but my own.

Vanity.

Age-long deceiver.

Does not drag the highest from their grace,

But those already willing to fall.
