The Sinking City of VeniceA Poem by Kelsey MclarenThe global warming’s impact in Venice, Italy.
In the orange like sunset does the storm reach the pier
In the glassy eyes of the children they await their end In the thousand bridges running across the city Does the underlying truth burry deep in the ocean Small valleys and forever sailing boats In the green river our soul keeps swimming The reflection of the buildings carry on the surface Will we all go under with a dive? Not even the sweet taste of summer can save us now In Atlantis ashes we become the same In the brick buildings our fate ruins by the day May the Gods throw the dice and choose our destiny Will it be us, or our city? © 2022 Kelsey Mclaren |
