I Can't Wait To Live

I Can't Wait To Live

A Poem by Kelsey Mclaren
"

''I can't wait to live because I've just been surviving''

"

I’ve never been the one to pray, even in my darkest days and deepest pits,

looking up to the sky to search guidance from a God has never been invited to me

They lost me long ago when I fell for the fourth time,

by then no amount of miracles could stitch me back together to who I once was.

Something about being vulnerable enough to drop down on your knees with your hands together,

placed right over your heart; seems beautiful in a strange way.

If only someone could reach their hand out for the people who it rains the most on,

We don’t decide our original design and sometimes I believe we can’t even change our own path.

Someone must’ve surely decided for me get the roughest obstacle course,

but I’m not going to back down,

Whoever put me through all this should gasp as I run to the finish line in one breath,

For I’m not going to let anyone or any force stop me from being happy.
