The castle

The castle

A Poem by Kelsey Mclaren

The lullaby’s playing,

the clings ringing in my ears like church bells,

the violin’s strings stroked gently as my darkest and deepest dreams enter.

Fallen into an abonded castle and been left to waltz all alone,

the beautiful ball music is sounding hollow in these walls.

The thorns grow loud and rapid, to conqour out the emptiness in the halls.

My soul grows fearful as I wonder what door will let me leave, but the keys are gone.

The gown hanging down from my shoulder grows heavier as I run down the stairs,

tripping on every belief in my life.

Yet again life shows me that reality never softens for the weaker.

The doors are locked..

I’m traped inside a beautiful hollow castle with my fears hunting me down.
