Your blueprint

Your blueprint

A Poem by Kelsey Mclaren

Pain is so beautiful.

It paints you and the scars embroides your skin,

each lie tracing up your body like a pattern.

The burn must’ve stung and you might be ashamed of the marks left on your skin making you remember a time in your life you were drowning.

You survived though long enough to let the scars become a map and a blueprint of your life and soul.

The depth of the dark has been cast on your canvas and drawn blood down from it,

but don’t be afraid, for the most beautiful art intimidates people.
