To my younger selfA Poem by Kelsey MclarenPeople don’t care, little girl. You want them to because you think you deserve to but people are way too caught up in their own problems to even notice yours. Nobody’s life can circulate around you, silly. The world isn’t flowers and petals raining down from the sky, life is a painful rain made of acid to burn your skin as you walk along with earth. No one spares you mercy, nobody will respect you unless you stand up, no one will take you seriously until you intimidate them. Making others notice you is a self sacrifice, in silent ways sometimes. Someone’s pain goes unrecognised for we’re all way too caught in in this hell fire to pour water on somebody else. © 2020 Kelsey Mclaren |
