Given A Life

Given A Life

A Poem by Lover Of Words

We are given a life
Worth conquering
Finding the light that leads our paths
The key that opens a new door
Loves that breaks our hearts
Strength that lifts us up
Family that leaves a powerful mark
Voices that carry important massages
Hurdles that we must live though to get to what we love
The nights where memories live in the  stars
The sun that opens our eyes
The ocean that gives us peace
Darkness that gives us our fears
Treasures that give us hope
The hands that pull us up when we are falling
Tears that makes us strong
Years that make us wise
Smiles that makes us whole
Time that gives us memories
Put in our hearts of hearts
So never forgotten
Within the depths of life

I see you are awaking to what Life really is. You are seeing that what you are given is something you can either take to heart, love and appreciate, or you can see it for what it is and put it in its proper perspective. It is not so much what happens to us in this life that is so important, but how we choose to think and feel about it that is what really is what really matters. We cannot really change what cards we are dealt, but we sure can choose how we feel about them and play them out in our Life. We have a choice on how to accept things that come into our life, even seemingly negative things.

For example in my life: When I was 20, I offered to help an older lady start her flooded car in her garage. I opened up the hood, took off the air cleaner, put my hands over the carbrator and told her to try starting it. It started right away, but before I could get out from front of the car, the lady started to get out of the car and accidentally through it in gear, nearly mashing me up against the wall. Fortunately my knee wasn't broken, but I could tell that the ligaments on the inside of knee were badly torn. As I hobbled back to my apartment, I proclaimed to myself, "This is the best thing that ever happen in my Life!" And, by God, my life changed dramatically. I quit my job at the Title Co., move out from my Mom's, cast, crutches and all, shortly after the cast was off; got married, went to work for and engineering firm, all leading me to where I am today.

The Moral of this story is: "Our World is the makings of our thoughts and feelings and it can be paradise on Earth if we choose it to be.

You got me crying as I read it again.
Kelsey, you are saying more then a whole choir of Angels could say at one setting.

I tried to save it in my favorites, but It wouldn't let me.
Know why?
Cause I already saved it :-)
