Dead End

Dead End

A Poem by Kelley Conto
"

Mental health awareness depression and feelings are real. They should never be ignored.

"
Dead End
You wake up and wish you weren’t
Your body is burnt
Feeling dead
Can’t get out of bed
Hating life
In pain like you been stabbed by a knife
Your heart hurts so much
And nothing to punch
You scream so loud
But no one hears a sound
You’re crying
Feel like dying
Reached out several times for help
But no one was listening
Not even to a whistle
Or a yelp
Just giving up seems just right
And it makes you win the fight
Why not give it a shot
Right on the dot
No one cares
So don’t even share
Just do it
Go out like a hard hit
Why not
Your body and mind are so lost and tangled in a knot
This is the end of the road
Dead like a toad
No further because this is the end
Next is a funeral to attend.

Captures well the world view of one in the grip of depression. When such people kill themselves, they don't necessarily want to die. They just want the pain to end.
