Darkness trails behind
Open my eyes

Why would I close my eyes
For the darkness
When I could open them

We all have dark and light in us. Your description is just the visable kind. I'm wondering if you are closing them to block out something and don't have to see it? Opening them would mean that you would, in a sense, have to deal with it. But, then I thought, you are just looking at the opposite and asking what we think. My answer is, "Why would you want the dark on purpose, when light is so much more fulfilling?" (I could be way off, but that's what it says to me) :)

Hi, sorry for replying late, i forgot about this website and just discovered it and how much I loved it. This poem was about to me on a personal level, how sometimes people can , when sad, lessen their mood even more by lets say listening to depressing music. And why choose the darkness, when theres sunshine? :)
