I Am

I Am

A Poem by Chara

A swimmer in the middle of the turbulent sea
Waves crashing, pelts of rain swallowed by tides
Floating and floating, ceasing to drown
I am
A sailor coursing through life’s endless abyss
Accompanied by Death, a true friend indeed
I am
A metronome amidst the various combination of notes and rests
Monotonous, succumbing to the harmonious symphony of peace
A fading dissonant rhythm
I am
a lonesome wanderer
Traversing uncharted roads and ruins
Collector of broken shards and ores
I am
A discarded cartridge of ink
Bleeding of sloppy hues
Submerged in spilled residue of what was once
I am
A deserted canvas of white and specks
The unfinished work left to dust
The remnant of a spirited imagination and wishful dreams
Despite,
I am
The shattered pieces of a broken watch, waiting for the watchmaker to fix the gears and outshine the gleams of the brightest diamonds

i think this is honest poetry ..it skirts the dark in such a way that i don't get a feeling that your protagonist is in any way despondent ... remains afloat ... swims the seas and crosses mountains .. but so much of your imaging is dark ... its like the hard streets meets the maestro ;) well done .. very much enjoyed reading .. its so vulnerable honest and strong ... nice work!
