I believe this form of writing is called Acrostic. I pinched the idea from Melissas poem on her Poetic Ponderings site. If I've broken any acrostic rules I apologise in advance and I consider my wrist to have been well and truly slapped!

Red streaks on grey

Above a splash of orange.

Indigo, deep, sensual.

Now yellow brings light and

Blue borders green

On a violet curve

Where the rainbow ends
