Empty Eyes

Empty Eyes

A Poem by Keith Beckham

I saw a man sitting with empty eyes

A pitiful creature to behold

I thought surely he must be filled with empty thoughts

Why else would he look so?

I saw a man looking at my empty eyes

His eyes were full of scornful mirth

I fear he must dwell only on empty thoughts

Why else would he look so?

I really like this piece. I think it very interesting in its subject matter. As the reader I wanted there to be more, it feels like I have only read half the story. In a strange way is great because I want to know more.
Keep up the great work :-)
