In His Eyes

In His Eyes

A Poem by K.D.Storm

In his eyes…

I’m the undeserving hero who holds the stars in my hands…

I fight off the bad dreams with the sound of my voice…

I’m able to put his fears at rest with a hug and a kiss.

In his eyes…

I can do no wrong…

He accepts me for who I am…

No questions asked…

He doesn’t try to change me…

Which makes me want to be a better person…

Because of him.

In his eyes I can do no wrong…

When I do he offers forgiveness with a loving heart.

He never holds the past against me…

In his own special way he believes in me…

Even when I don’t believe in myself.

In his eyes…

I have gotten lost in them since the first day we met.

He’s all I’ve ever wanted…

Nothing I ever dream I could ever have.

In his eyes…

I see him growing each day into the man I know that he’ll one day be…

My chest swells with pride…

Knowing that there’s a part of me who had a hand in making him.

One day I’ll actually be all he thinks I am…

Be able to give him the world…

Be deserving of the faith I see when he looks at me…

Live up to all I truly am…in his eyes.

K.D.Storm,

Our mothers... our original soulmates? I mean, for a child, we spend our lifes adoring our mom... No amount of fussing or disagreeing can separate our hearts... Note: I am not speaking from a twisted veiwpoint. (this is until we grow to our terrible teens, even then Mom gives more than we deserve).

Mom's are the calm before the storm, during the storm and the rationale after the storm. Mom's can never fail us, and even when they think they have, we only saw thier love and adoration.

A love like no other lives inside our mother...

Capturing the essence of being a mom is a complex art, yet you have made it appear so smooth.

Bravo and standing ovation for being that kind of Mom...

Keep writing, it suits you.

There's a fresh sweetness about this piece; its tone is all the more powerful for how much affection you managed to convey without ever using the word "love" (even its variant,"loving," only appears once.) This suggested to me that what is shared between the two is deeper than the word can express. I'm sure we all should be so lucky as to find that kind of happiness in another person.
