The Girl In The Mirror

The Girl In The Mirror

A Poem by K.D.Storm
"

What is refected back to a person when the truly look within the mirror of their soul

"

Sad Eyes stare off in the distance,

Remembering the young girl she once was,

Wearing an empty smile one her face,

Thinking she is hiding from the world her pain.

Never realizing that every word she speaks drips of heartache,

Every action she performs screams of the betrayals hurdled her way.

No matter how tall she tries to stand in front of the world,

No matter how often she tries to weather the storms,

There’s still a scared little girl trapped within,

Begging to be loved and accepted for who she is inside.

I’m the only one who hears her soft cries at night,

Even if I can’t offer comfort from it all.

I’m the only one who knows her in this world,

Every day and night she’s the one I always see,

The girl in the mirror is always staring back at me.
