Don't Say It Unless You Mean It

Don't Say It Unless You Mean It

A Poem by K.D.Storm
"

A woman that is only asking that what he says is what he means and not just another way to play games when it comes to the matters of the heart.

"

Your words flow like a song from your lips to my heart,

So easy they come,

I’m afraid that as quick they will fade,

Like smoke rings swallowed up into the air.

I wanna believe the uttering you claim is from your heart,

But they seem just like words,

As if you are just an actor playing a part.

So I ask that you only say what you mean,

To mean what you say,

To not get carried away in the heat of the moment,

To not promise what you think I want to hear just to get your way.

Don’t group me with the others,

A thrill that you will in time forget,

Respect who I am,

Don’t play me for a fool.

Don’t say it unless you mean it,

Don’t throw around those words unless they are true.

I love the imagery in it and how it shows you want honesty in love and nothing more.

This sounds like a plea for honesty
in a relationship. A request for a lover
to be real.

An exquisite poem that sums up the need
for real love.

My rating ----- 100 %

The imagery in this is beautiful! I love all the comparisons you make - "Like smoke rings swallowed up into the air."
