Ponder MeA Poem by PenManShepAn impromptu poem while I was sitting one morning before work.“Ponder Me” I sit here pondering
the meaning of life I am thinking of
coffee and time with my wife Lingering between
should I write, or should I read Trying to decide
which of my desires to feed Is that what life is,
a battle between wants, Or is it truth,
creation, and selflessness that haunts I know God has a
purpose for me, a plan He wants me to seek
to be a righteous man To punctuate or not,
who will see my story When all is said and
done, to whom goes the glory So many things in
life to which I could toy What of these things
could bring happiness or joy? Please don’t judge me
so, oh no, I could not bear Are you so pure that
I should squint from the glare? After all we are just
flesh and bone trying to make it through Toward what should we
toil before the end of me and you? © 2020 PenManShep |
