Him

Him

A Poem by Bookworm1223

How do I explain,
What I cannot understand?
My body begs for sleep,
But it craves his loving hand.

My heart - no my soul,
It aches deep within.
An emptiness, a hole,
That is filled when I'm with him.

I feel like I am hollow.
Like my heart can't rightly beat.
I need him in my life,
He is my missing piece.

He makes life worth living.
He makes my frown a smile.
He holds me while I fall asleep,
Then cradles me all the while.

With him, my skies are blue -
Even when they're not.
He makes me laugh, he makes my day,
Without a second thought.

His gentle hands are lovely,
The fingers thin but strong.
And when they're laced with mine,
My heart gladly sings his song.

Though I'm young and supple,
And my heart could love again,
He is the one with whom I wish,
My days would gladly end.
