The Unfinished

The Unfinished

A Poem by kdpgrahi

So I am forced  to take off my masks, and you yours
our mouths shut? as if we'd been pierced by a glance!

The song of an old Banyan tree is not more full of judgment
It is more surprising how it tries to keep its balance;

so I pull the shadows around me like a puff
and crinkle my eyes as if at the most exquisite moment

of a very long opera, and then we are off!
without reproach and without hope that our delicate feet

will touch the earth again, let alone "very soon."
It is the law of my own voice I shall investigate.
I just start like birds in the sky, ever free to roam about
my thoughts have been restricted
somewhere in the mid-air as if a dead end

The only thing I can command is your whisper
your sweet lips touching mine
the hands clasped in a frenzied mode
to purge oneself from its inert abode

I must admit your poetry speaks a volume. No doubt it reflects who you are and what you seek and that is surely truth.
Each stanza of yours has a depth beyond measure.
The third and forth line were beyond my scope of understanding but i shall take a pledge to find for myself what they mean.
Thanks for sharing, sir!

Great words and honest emotion in the poem. I had to read it a second time. All the statements were strong. No weakness in this outstanding poem.

Fell in love with this poem instantly once I read the first sentence. Very strong writing that reflects the person you are beyond understanding. But I guess that's poetry we all read something and find meaning but to the person who wrote it, the poem has a deeper message. This poem is the perfect example great writing
