Life twists and turns

As the thread of life

Spirals out of control

The fates are funny that way;

 

Immortality never lasts

Even with liquid red

Coursing through our veins

The fates are funny that way;

 

Scissors snipping away

Severing the thread

That binds us to this life

The fates are funny that way;

 

Heroes are gone and past

Lives are dead and wasted

Pools of liquid red fill the holes

The fates are funny that way;

 

Buildings fall and crumble

Bridges break and tremble

Lives are crushed

The fates are funny that way;

 

People pray for salvation

Nobody is home however

They pray to the wrong Gods don’t you see?

Author's Note

Any and all criticism is welcome. Also, in the 6th stanza i'm not saying any one religion is wrong, thought i would say that so people wouldnt get offended.

Life is never under are control, the Fates perhaps are. Like the repeating of the line Fates are funny that way. We could laugh at what happens in our lives or we could cry. Anyway, I really enjoyed your poem.
