Ravens and Crows

Ravens and Crows

A Poem by Forever Mine
"

Go hand in hand

"

Graves crumble in the night

The moon opaque behind the clouds

Weeds sway in the breeze

Ravens and Crows

Shining eyes

Shimering wings

The sky calls me

The ground claims me

My life nowhere

The faded writing

Stares into my eyes and soul

My black dress tearing

I bare all as my love claims me

On the cold hard ground

Nothing is the same

My life slowly ebbs away

As the Ravens take flight

but all remains the same

As the Crows stay

Author's Note

Forever Mine
This poem isn't nessicarily about Angels, even though the picture may indicate it is. Also it might help if I mention that Ravens = Death and Crows = life, it might make more sense for some people that way

Fantastic imagery, it sticks out for me but the whole poem is very dark and mysterious.

Interesting . . . and neither bird is a night creature . . .

I really love the lines here "The sky calls me/ The ground claims me". Those are some powerful words. This poem very well written and the symbolism here is great. The way that you used the birds to symbolize life and death was beautiful. Overall great poem.

I like the way you chose birds as the symbols of life and death here, makes it more unique to writings that often blatantly point out those elements. Pictures are great to evoke our imagination and creativity, great job

It has always been thought that ravens meant death but to me they are protectors of those down and out... still I really loved the theme of this piece and the symbolic use of the birds.

I like the photo. Made the words come alive. I like the feel of darkness and loneliness in your words. The crow is the bird of mystery. It see everything and whisper no secrets. A excellent poem.
