Casey

Casey

A Poem by Forever Mine
"

One Year later... Your still not forgetten

"

Like a Flower

Always beautiful and unique;

Like a Tree

Forever growing;

It comes and goes

With the current;

Each page

Turning to the next;

It stops suddenly

Like the wind;

Life is never

What you expect

It to be;

You will never be forgotten

You will forever live on

in the heart of football;

Author's Note

Forever Mine
I wrote this for a friend I who died one year ago today from a staph infection... We All Miss You Casey. Also for the last line, He was a star football player, and football was the town's life, since it was a small town where we come from.

I like this, it shows that even though he's gone, a piece of him will be very much alive. Nicely written.

A beautiful and sad poem. It scare when young people die of things like staph infection. It make me feel afraid for my children. You brought back to life a good man. We need to remember those who made us happy in our life. A excellent poem.

We have all lost loved one's, losing a friend is really hard to take and this poem to him is lovely. Most find it hard to release things from the heart to the world, I find them very meaningful and releasing. There is only one correction I can point out, line 8 "Turning", just thought I would let you know so it's flow would be complete. Anyway, lovely write.

I think the last line puts on a damper on the otherwise sheer timelessness of this writing... it's a great poem and tribute to your friend regardless, but football? Really? Won't he forever live on in the heart of friends and family or even his community?
