Casey

Casey

A Poem by Forever Mine
"

One Year later... Your still not forgetten

"

Like a Flower

Always beautiful and unique;

Like a Tree

Forever growing;

It comes and goes

With the current;

Each page

Turning to the next;

It stops suddenly

Like the wind;

Life is never

What you expect

It to be;

You will never be forgotten

You will forever live on

in the heart of football;

Author's Note

Forever Mine
I wrote this for a friend I who died one year ago today from a staph infection... We All Miss You Casey. Also for the last line, He was a star football player, and football was the town's life, since it was a small town where we come from.

Emily pretty much wrapped up anything I could say. Though, I will add that I'm sorry you had to go through that.

what a sweet memorial piece, it's harx to lose someone you care about. Hell, it's hard to lose just an aquaintance to the mysteries of death. I like the simplicity of this,, you said what you wanted to say and didn't distract us from that with endless elaborations.

Really nice poem in memory of your friend. You keep him alive that way in your heart and mine and for others too.

This is deep and poetic and is really good. It really speaks to the people who have lost someone, and even though the poem itself is personal to Casey, others can relate. Good job.

I'm sorry about your friend, Katherine. That must've been really hard on you and his family. I hope you're doing better now. This is a wonderful poem. I'm sure wherever Casey is, he's thanking you for writing this from somewhere special.
