Pain

you have felt the pain of love
it's like looking at the sky to see no stars above
you can search and search for a relief to the pain
but you can't stop it it's unpredictable like rain
and even though you will try
you will never forget and you know why
because you will never forget
the first time you met
the feeling burned in you're memory
no matter how hard you try it isn't temporary
it has become part of your being
when people see you they'll be seeing
the essence of love and the hurt it can cause
and see what happens when your caught in its jaws
and though you try to stay afloat
your chances of surviving it are remote
and as you slowly drift into despair
you can only hope there is a way to repair
your shattered heart and emotions
but this is no fantasy there are no potions
to change the way you feel
everyone around you can see the pain is real
it feels like even time does nothing because you miss
that special love as you slowly sink into the abyss
