Return

Return

A Poem by Kat

Gone are the battles

dispersed are the troops

from forgein lands you travel

to find out your worth

Did you do the right thing

Killing all those people?

Was the price you pay

equal to the cost?

Where is the fan fare

that was promised those months ago?

Are they waiting

cozy at home?

Do they not remember,

that you were once alone?

That you returned here

to friend, family and home?

You soul was torn assunder

Your hope was dashed again.

No one remembered you

while all you thought of was them.

A small tap on your arm,

a flower thrust into hand.

A small childs innocent smile.

And all is right again.

They may not know you

They may not have come

however the reason you fought

Has come to see you, it truly was for them.
