Where I'm from

Where I'm from

A Poem by PC

I am from unfinished concrete

Young eyes capture dust and spit some out

Boys and worms with hooks and plans

I am from school books and football mud

I am from overnight sticky porridge

Like the yawning sleep in my eye

I am from welcome summer’s fresh cut grass

Pleasant warmth nestles on springs white skin

I am from the misty fog of eighties love

I’m from disco lights and music’s magic sound

Mobile burgers for journeys home

I’m from early morning’s solitary winter stars

Sweet perfume and romantic clinch

I’m from still glistening chilly leaves

Emerging teen on immortal ground

Alfaville in my head sings forever young

A stumbling kiss on slipping verge
